The Spanish brand De Antonio Yachts has announced that its new E23 model will be the official electric boat of the 37th edition of the America's Cup, which will be held in Barcelona in 2024. The E23 is a catamaran with an integrated foil, which provides additional lift reducing friction when moving forward, increasing speed and thus extending its autonomy.

A 100% electric boat for sustainable competition

The E23 is the result of an innovative hull development, which optimizes the boat's performance and range for sailing. The model has a power of 50 kW/70 hp and a battery capacity of 40 kWh, which allows it to reach a maximum speed of +30 knots and travel up to 6 knots in 10 hours or 20 knots in 2 hours and 40 miles.

The boat also has a 55 liter fresh water tank and a charging time of just one hour and fifteen minutes with a rapid charger or twelve hours with a standard charger. The E23 is made from recycled materials and eco-friendly resins, helping to reduce the event's carbon emissions.

    The America's Cup is one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world, bringing together the best sailing teams every four years. The last edition was held in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2021, where Argentina won for the third consecutive time. The next edition will take place in Barcelona, Spain, where teams such as Emirates Team New Zealand (reigning champion), Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli (runner-up), INEOS Team UK (third) or J Team (fourth) are expected to participate.
